How does it work?
Blomberg’s Blue Light Technology uses four mechanisms to slow down the processes that break down plant matter.
- Photosynthetic Activation: Blue light activates chlorophyll to maintain enough photosynthesis to reduce wilting.
- Biochemical pathway regulation: It also acts on biochemical pathways, including those that produce the plant hormone, ethylene. Reducing ethylene slows down the ripening process, so fruits and veggies can stay fresh longer.
- Microbial Inhibition: Blue light carries wavelengths with antimicrobial properties to keep produce clean and fresh.
- Reduction of Oxidative Stress: And it maintains antioxidant levels in fresh produce to limit browning and spoiling.

Fewer ozone-depleting emissions
